A Buddhist monk walks barefoot over fire in a ritual ceremony which heralds the coming of spring at the Chichibu fire festival in Nagatoro town, suburban Tokyo, 04 March 2007. Hundreds of people follow the Buddhist ascetics to participate the fire walking for "purifying their mind and body" and to pray for good health and safety.
