So I was thrilled when the top image crossed the news wires. Today, I learned that the image was apparently manipulated, possibly to hide the fact that one missile failed. A handout picture released on the Web site and public relations arm of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Sepah News, was apparently digitally altered to show four missiles rising into the air instead of three during a test-firing in the Iranian desert on July 9, 2008. The second missile from the right was apparently added in a digital retouch to cover a grounded missile that may have failed during the test.
