A migrant laborer strips dark-fired tobacco leaves from a stalk on the Kirksey farm of Danny Cunningham. Cunningham employs four farm hands and a crew of eight Hispanic laborers to harvest crops grown on some 4,500 acres. He raises corn, soybeans and 42 acres of tobacco, dark-fired for use in snuff and chew.
