An aerial photo shows beach towels laid out during an event on Bondi Beach in Sydney on November 15, 2009 to raise awareness about the dangers of tanning. The event, in which the 1700 towels symbolised the rate of skin cancer related deaths in Australia, was organised by the Cancer Council.

It's amazing how physical representations of numbers can be so much more effective than just the statistics.
