Meredith, I use a tilt-shift lens when shooting shoes. We do angled shots, 45 degrees and such, quite a lot and the tilt shift is great for getting everything in focus, front to back. These sweepers make me think of the sensor cleaning thing that happens when I turn on or off my work cameras.
