Salvadorean migrants run to jump on a train to the border with the United States, in Lecheria, 30 km north of Mexico City, on June 1, 2010. The dangerous practice results in deaths and maimings each year.

Train accident victim Jose Hernandez, 24, holds his prosthetic leg in El Progreso, Honduras, June 24. A migrant worker on his way to the U.S., Hernandez was run over by a train in Mexico in 2004 and lost his arm and right leg, as well as three fingers on his left hand.

Migrants risk life and limb to work in U.S.

According to a local migrants organization, thousands of Central Americans - predominantly from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala - cross Mexico's southern border into the U.S. every year on a train popularly known as "the train of death," during which many die or get seriously injured falling off from crowded trains.

They're entering the US  on a vehicle called "the train of death",  not only are they entering illegally but they're also  receiving free  medical care ? I understand their desperation, they need to understand the proper and LEGAL way !

If there was a legal way to come into this country without having to wait a millions years believe me they would enter legally. I am sure you are Anglo and when your ancestors came into this country they were accepted with a signature into Ellis Island or into Mexican Territory. Learn your history and you will see that Mexico which once owned half of the United States allowed open immigration to your Anglo ancestors. In return these same people paid no taxes and raised arms against the same county that allowed them into the country legally. Mexico had to go to war with the US because these Anglos asked the US to help them. Mexico lost the territory because President Polk cowardly sent an army to Mexico to slaughter women and children therefore half of Santana's army had to retreat to protect their women and children. Yes this is the history look it up it seems to repeat itself with the American Indians. It shows you have no sympathy for humans that are not of your race and if there was a legal way you would find another reason to not want brown people. So please do not try to hide behind the bigot curtain and call it what it is "racist." In addition, the medical treatment that you are talking about is free and it Mexican you idiot. Read the article correctly these incidents occurred in Mexico or in the southern countries.

Condoms to be used early is a perfect thing to say for all of your ancestors who over populated this country with whites. This country belongs to the browns and the reds. In addition, white had to swim oceans and also infested this once clean country with rats and diseases.

    Historian,

Just because it takes "a million years" to enter legally, doesn't entitle them to commit a crime doing it illegally, just as If I were to enter Mexico without the proper I.D. Don't assume that I'm "Anglo", you, yourself would be "hiding behind the bigot curtain" and sound racist yourself ! Being a U.S. citizen we are allowed to express our opinions freely, name calling ("you idiot") is SO sophomoric, what are you two ?

So historian???? what about the Texicans, Mexican citizens whom wanted independence living in then the Territory TEJAS/Apache/Comanche territories now called TEXAS, slaughtered by Santana??? Thats justified in your left wing open borders mind. Thousands of mexican citizens who wanted to be FREE and NOT LIVE UNDER A DICTATORSHIP were killed by Santana's army. Oh thats right never mind that part of YOUR SO CALLED HISTORY. War is a means by which to make one capitulate i believe Texas was being constantly raided by Bandits aka your social heros live panco villa and his kind. As much as you hate it AMERICA is a country with laws yes its a wild concept for your highly educated liberal mind to grasp. Perhaps your house being broken into multiple times or one of your family members being killed by a illegal immigrant drunk driving or raped?? Oh thats right you dont live anywhere near mexico so you really wouldnt know or really care. Go stick your head back in your communist/socialist REVISIONIST history you can fool some people most of the time but not all of the people all of the time just watch your HERO mr. obama is one and done unless he gets the illegal mexican vote better hope so because you might actually have to go to work if they dont!

        A ticket might be cheaper.

Geez, at first glance the top six photos looked to me like a fashion show. the second shot of the train and jumpers looks a bit like City College students late for a bus, but it does show the danger wheels grinding along and the last picture is just plain sad, the soccer ball is the kicker on this one.

Get your condoms, use 'em early and always.

Ouch. I am so sorry for their pain. I wish I could have had a hand in making their lives joyous so they never would have thought of needing to leave their home and risk their lives. So young So unfair.

Those who come here, to the usa, as shown in the fotos are some of the most motivated people I know. In fact, I have one such person living with me who just received a california senate commendation for his scholarrly achievements. Migration is a human right, don't forget! We need comprehensive immigration reform NOW, our country will be the better for it.

I happen to be of Hispanic descent and fully believe in immigration. It is what this great country was built on. But I believe in LEGAL immigration. Whether it takes "a million years" it can be done. Millions have done it and millions will continue to do so. Also, there have (over the years) been several opportunities for amnesty of illegal immigrants to become legal immigrants. Yet so many have failed to take advantage of those opportunities. I also happen to have been born in Arizona and fully support my home state's efforts at doing something about a major problem that severly depletes the resources of the state. I'm tired of everyone crying about the illegals when they seem to be missing a major fact. They are ILLEGAL. Hence, why it's against the law for them to be here in the first place. If you want to move to another country, fine, do it, just do it the right way, the legal way and actually become a citizen of that country. I do not believe in "Mexican-Americans". You are either Mexican or American or you can even say that you are an American of Mexican descent (as I am) but if pick a country, become a legal citizen and then stick with it.

Maybe instead of risking their lives to get menial jobs in the US, the Central American men should instead overthrow their corrupt governments and work to develop the economies of the Central American countries. If Korea and Japan can develop their industries, Latin America can do the same thing. For decades now, young hispanic men have been sneaking across the US border and using American jobs to send money back home to their countries. It hasn't made a single dent in the poverty in Central America, as demonstrated by the current flock of fools rushing in to seek this illusion called the "American Dream." Its time that Central American men use their brain and think of other ways to improve their countries.
