Subscribe to RSSWhen I saw the picture from Pakistan 15 minutes ago, it struck me how primitive and futile a wooden boat on a donkey cart seemed as rescue equipment in the face of the massively tragic deluge there, and how different the scene was from floods in the U.S. I second-guessed myself almost immediately, as I remembered the 2005 picture from Gulfport in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

We're doing a heck of a job.
Um, yea Stokes, let's not ever forget Katrina and Brownies "Heck of a Job". The lower piciture reminds me of Jackson Browne's album "Lawyers in Love", except the Lawyer was paddling his Mercedes in a flood on the album cover, and here, the poor folk are paddling past a swamped Mercedes.
Mother Nature continues to complain.
