Hartford Distributors employees Jennifer Wood, of Tolland, right, kisses an 8-week old German shepherd puppy, brought by The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation to the Connecticut beer distribution company on Aug. 20, 2010, in Manchester, Conn. Earlier this month, fired employee Omar Thornton killed eight co-workers and wounded two others before killing himself at the Hartford Distributors building.

I am so happy to see expressions of love in these times of such distress. Jesus is soon to come and end all of this mayhem, and confusion.

Amen, Ruth!

& David...

If ipods make you happy, there will be lots of ipods, computers, money, etc. laying around after Jesus comes back. But your focus might change after that...

Here's the problem I have with the Rapture: according to recent statistics, 67% of Americans are overweight or obese. Somewhere around 25% smoke. Many have fast food "addictions." Put that all together with the knowledge that you leave all world goods behind when you get Raptured, God will have a bunch of fat, unhappy, screaming folks around his throne with major hankerings for their McMuffins, smokes, & lattes. Scary image, eh? The personal problem I have: if Charles Manson or Dahmer repented & took Christ as his saviour, etc. then croaked, they would be plunking harps & flapping their angelic wings about now. But if I croak, after a lifetime of helping the poor & less fortunate, just because its the right thing to do, I'm gonna burn? Don't think so. David-552199, you can have her iPod as long as I get the garden tools. ;-)

no one is perfect. if you helped the poor but dissed the people in your lives, are you "good enough" for heaven? heaven isn't about merit and patting yourself on the back for being a good person.

heaven is for people who realize their need for God in their lives and decide to ask God to be a part of their lives.

"amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me"

heaven is about grace - unmerited favor.

I find it sad, that we think it necessary to pick a fight over a picture of some people cuddling puppies.

What is wrong with you people?

This is not a religious issue. This is not a cause for religious debate or religious intolerance.

Dogs (and for some, cats) have a unique ability to increase seratonin (sp?) and that feeling of peace and well-being. What a fine, fine thing the breeders of these dogs did for these people who are hurting due to their recent brush with death. To bring these puppies out for these people to hold and enjoy is a gift beyond measure.

Therapy dogs are always welcome visitors in hospitals and nursing homes, especially puppies. They do more good than you realize.

Get a life people and appreciate the warmth and love and HEALING this picture shows. No words can describe it.

For those of you waiting for Jesus, please do so quietly.

For those of you critical of those with a strong Christian belief, please take it elsewhere and let the rest of us vicariously enjoy the joy these puppies brought to those poor people.

Charles Schultz taught us that "Happiness is a warm puppy." This picture makes his point better than I can.

Thank you for saving me the time of writing exactly the same thing. Also, if I had written it, I would have asked these empty vessels why they dont just keep quiet unless they have something intelligent to contribute and then I would have gone on and on, but I wont. Thanks skip.

I LOVE puppy breath! I don't understand where all this crazy talk is coming from - pets offer us humans one thing another human is not capable of - unconditional love!

I think it is wonderful and hope it gave them a few minutes to escape from the sorrow of losing their co-workers. And I agree....it is time for posters to quit inserting harsh comments about either the photo, story and quit being so divided....hell, no wonder this country is in for continued bad times. If someone suggested National Apple Pie Day....they might be accused of being a communist, socialist, right-wing nut or whatever. Get a life my fellow Americans.

Many people need to beleive in god because they are incapable of dealing with responsibilty and reality. It's santa claus for grown ups except he kills and maims little kids for retribution.

Dogs, however, bring peace and joy to the world.
