Emotional medevac in Afghanistan

Photographer Oleg Popov captured an interesting sequence of images of a medevac in Afghanistan. The fourth picture shows a level of emotion that we don't usually get to see.

heartbreaking. really heartbreaking. and to think we've been in that country just about as long as the Soviets...it's something else.

    Heroic, heart wrenching work. Even if the severely injured survive thru surgery at the NATO trauma hospitals in Afghanistan they face fighting staff infection from the filth of the bomb blasts. Some pass away later in Germany due to infection.
