Did Cher embarrass herself at The MTV Awards, or did she show Lady Gaga how the game is played?
msnbc.com story: Stars forgive, Lady Gaga wins big at MTV awards
Cher -- an over-the-top diva from a different era -- gave Gaga her award and noted she had been raising eyebrows while Lady Gaga "was still Baby Gaga."
Cher originally wore her outfit in a 1989 music video that was shot on board the USS Missouri. Many networks refused to show the video, and MTV banned it because of Cher's clothing. However, the music network later decided to show it only after 9 p.m.

Is Cher pulling Lady's Tail? Sure looks like it to me. This shot's got a fairy Tale-no pun intended-look about it. Sort of a Wizard of Oz or Cinderella thing that is rather appealing. It's not just that both are pretty ladies and quite talented, it's the facial expressions and posture.

I think they are both gross. Cher needs to learn to dress her age or within 20 yrs of it.

Boy Cinderella at the ball sure looks different. Yoga, plastic surgery, intense daily exercise, strict dieting, etc... It's a 24 hour a day job and tons of dollars to maintain that ageless look. But check out the hand, the age is showing some there. It's the ole' football pat on the butt thing. Also, what was censored on TV in Cher's original costume appearance is all to prevalent and encouraged these days.

We all should be so lucky to be able to look like Cher, at her age, whatever that is. But we all KNOW it is in the 60's - so what????? Try looking like that my friend in your .....er.....60's!

Well, Cher is a bit younger than I am, but she sure looks a LOT younger. Many youngsters have no idea what good looking is. Have to admire her, routine and all. It takes a lot or work to keep a figure like that. I LIKE....
Besides that she can sing!

Cher is an ICON going back to when I first saw her on the old Ed Sullivan show with Sonny Bono singing "I got you babe", and America was hooked.
After their publicized split-up Sonny would later become Mayor of Palm Springs and Cher did Vegas, and continued recording. She has a fabulous voice.
I give her credit, I never hear anything but good things about her and she deserves some respect for doing very well, for a very long-term, in an industry that kills and or cripples so many, so early.
Guys guys...What does it matter 2 all? Although I think Maddona + Cindi Lauper = Lady Gaga, and either one of them would have been a great choice to present the award, MTV did a wonderful job adding Cher to the mix. I can see how that can relate. Cher looks great at whatever the cost, if u got it flaunt it. Cher is one of our Iconic living music legend, when many has criticized her singing...well I love that voice of hers. I always thought that her voice was and is very unique no one else comes close to that sound. She definitely has left her mark by her sound as well of her style in music industry. Wow to still be able to fit an outfit she wore back in`89, how many of us like to be able to fit an outfit we wore back then? I know I would. U go girl!!! : ) Now in days, u have to ask who is singing, since everyone sound like everyone. Only a few stands out: Fantasia, Beyonce, Alanais M.,Toni B,the late Michael Jackson, Anita Baker,Michael Bolton just to name a few. I am 40 and proud 2 say it, so I remember Cher when I was growing up. I even had her doll, I wish I still had it. I was young enough to relate to what Madonna,Cindi,Michael Jackson had to say and grown enough to appreciate great music like Toni Broxton, Anita Baker,Fantasia ,Beyonce, Alanis & Michael Bolton. So what does it matter? Learn to appreaciate those with great talents from now and then, instead of dragging their names. Enjoy music Enjoy Life
Cher has brought joy and entertainment to many of us, including our proud Active Duty Men & Women. I respect her as an artist and entertainer.
Lady Gaga is an impressive talent who I hope will go on to greatness. She stands on the shoulders of giants like Cher and even David Bowie. May they inspire this generation to new expression of our human condition.
