Recording artist Lady Gaga speaks at a rally in support of repealing the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy for gay service members, in Portland, Maine, on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010.

Lady Gaga on the stump

I hardly recognized Lady Gaga without her meat dress (or one of her other fashion statements). She's such a showman that, at first glance, I wondered if this political rally was just another example of her performance art. After watching the video below, I'm pretty sure she is sincere in her campaign to repeal "don't ask, don't tell."

What a transformation...from an Outrageous Diva to a Political Activist using her over the top apparel as a symbol....What a bunch of bunk...She's a narcissist...

So, what, she's not supposed to have an opinion, or present a valid and well-thought out argument?

Regardless of the issue, I really hate it when celebrities get involved with politics. They really show the extent of their ignorance. And, most of the time, they represent the minorty. I mean minority here as the view held by the fewest people.

Just as fake as her character what would you expect. Glad it wasn't taxpayers money that was wasted here.

Yea, but your kids love her, so the future is still screwed unless you get involved in your kids lives, no? Of course, if your kids love her, you're not nearly involved enough as it is...

I'm actually in favor of repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" but does any one really take anything Lady Gaga says seriously? Please go back to entertaining and leave politics alone.

I'm in favor of repealing Bill Clinton's "DADT" policy but GAGA is a loon. She obviously feels strongly about gay rights but she's also still trying to explain (defend) her recent meat fashion faux pas to vegans. What was the cock of sh*t she spewed about something not having any more rights than the "meat on your bones"? Uhhhh yeahhhh. Now it's this weirrrrd statement about being able to serve in the military is the "prime rib of America".

              Sheezzz.

                Go, Gaga, Go!

How many people, who have lots on their plates, take the time to speak their mind? Not many, according to the turnout at most elections. C'mon, she's expressing herself and in my opinion doing a really great job of it.

                Nice outfit too. Ribbit.

Why does being an entertainer give you any credibility as a commentator on social issues?  Lady Gag-Me's statement about how all those soldiers who have issues with gays in their unit should just "go home" reveals the depth of her stupidity and naievete.  Right -- as if they can just pack their American Tourister bag and take the first commercial jetliner out of Kabul.  And further, those soldiers she so openly disdains have risked everything to defend her right to put on yet another costume and exercise her right to free speech, a fact she so blatantly ignores.  I wish I could shrink-wrap Lada Gaga inside her meat dress and send her packing.

Why does being an entertainer automatically mean the message should be dismissed?
