I wanted to see what you guys thought about people bringing babies into work. Is it progressive, traditional, both? I included another image here to provide some context for her raised arm.

Italy's Member of the European Parliament Licia Ronzulli takes part with her baby in a voting session at the European Parliament in Strasbourg September 22, 2010. At right, a wider view of voting.

It's awesome to be able to bring a baby to work! Common sense needs to be applied, of course, so the work of others isn't disrupted.
I always enjoyed taking my school-age daughter to work with me, too.
I think we need to be able to be able to have our children involved in our lives, but this is parliment! There is always a lot more to the picture then just what you see. Maybe this was an 18 hour session and another caregiver just brought the baby in for a feeding or for a short period of time. Maybe, the baby is was sleeping and she only needed to be there for 15 min to take the vote. I just find it pretty unimaginably that a baby is not going to do a least a little bit of crying an interrupting if he's in there for an extended period of time.
This is one of the most beautiful moment I have ever seen. A mother and child! absolutely Beautiful.
