Willie Nelson plays his guitar as he performs during the 25th anniversary Farm Aid concert in Milwaukee, Wisc., on Oct. 2.

Fingers on the "Trigger"

Every time I see Willie Nelson's guitar, I am amazed that the instrument is still capable of putting out good sound. It is a Martin N-20 nylon-string acoustic guitar named Trigger after Roy Rogers' horse and was purchased sight-unseen by Nelson in 1969 for $750. He estimates that nearly 100 friends' names are carved into the guitar and he even went so far as to put the guitar into hiding during his tangles with the IRS. The guitar also has its own 24-hour bodyguard.

Thank you, Willie, for still fighting for the family farms!!  We need family farmers and not agricultural mega-corporate famers.  Look at Michelle Bachmann - on her 15 acres, she gets farm subsidies.  THAT IS MORALLY REPREHENSIBLE!!  My sister lost her family farm to the Reagan dairy cow buy-outs.  Up until then, they were managing a dairy farm.

This is what love for an instrument and the music it creates looks like.

        I love stuff like this.

Music isn't an Art Form as much as a life style, and it's your friends that fill that life style with love and hope and dreams. This guitar is really a canvas on which Willy paints, and which is signed by his friends, who are his muse. With a gifted hand, and stoic voice, he conjures vivid scenes of everyday life with which everyone can relate, because they are for everybody who will listen.

Cool Guitar and Strap Willie. Ribbit.

Katie...Over the years I've been to a bunch of His shows down here in Texas. I can tell you Willie only gets better with age! He really loves and respects His fans and always makes sure they get their moneysworth; He'll go go on stage and jam for hours. You ought to plan a trip to Texas for one of his 4th of July picnics..you'll have a blast!

I'm sure the guitar has also been exposed to high levels of cannabanoids as well....

The picture speaks well for Martin guitars, music for hard workers, and especially Willy's big heart. Love it!
