Ridiculous stunt, but one to which NASCA fans should be accustomed.

I still can't get past the idea that a grown man is still going by the name "Spanky". Hahahahaha!

I live a few miles from where the accident happened, and our community regularly suffers the ills of the NASCAR mentality. I can only say that...

too bad they made it out alive. Would have rid the world of 2 more rednecks and made a great Darwin Award.

Mommy told us not to play with fire.

I wouldn't go so far as James, but if this is what Nascar, at one of its biggest events of the year, in the middle of the playoffs (The Chase), has to resort to to bring in the crowds (i.e. who apparently might enjoy something like this, even if it worked), I would say Nascar has pretty much 'Jumped the Shark' (look it up).

When some of the biggest names in racing (Penske, Hendrick) don't have a real 2011 sponsorship package for their biggest stars this late in the season you know you business is in HUGE trouble.

Sad. The contrived "show" Nascar likes to put on these days (I'm looking at YOU, Pemberton, for the abominable "competition caution") has made a mockery of what used to be a pretty pure product.

Even with the possible human cost, any NASCAR race is worth the admission price!!
