An activist from People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is covered with fake blood and wrapped in a package to represent a package of meat, during a protest in Berlin on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010. PETA are protesting against the mistreatment of animals before their slaughter. Poster reads: 'Meat' 'Billion of animals will be mistreated and brutally killed because you eat meat. Stop it today.'

Meat package

PETA really goes all out to get a point across. Would this stop you from eating meat?

No, it does not make me want to stop eating meat. But I'm glad we live in a society where we are free to make our points like this. Now which steak shall I defrost tonight...

Stop eating meat? Not as long as I have canine teeth, which vegans also have but ignore. Oh, and if I stopped eating meat I'd have to live on vitamin supplements like vegans do. Not a chance of that. What I brought home from the hunt on Saturday was messier than the packaged young lady...I didn't give it a thought. That's what being at the top of the food chain means.

     Per usual, meat eaters unite.

Anemic and proud of it :)

        Genesis 9:1-4

And God went on to bless Noah and his sons and to say to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth. 2 And a fear of YOU and a terror of YOU will continue upon every living creature of the earth and upon every flying creature of the heavens, upon everything that goes moving on the ground, and upon all the fishes of the sea. Into YOUR hand they are now given. 3 Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for YOU. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to YOU. 4 Only flesh with its soul—its blood—YOU must not eat.

If, "All Dogs Go To Heaven", then they must have a "soul"? So, I can't eat my German Shepard when he croaks? Daaaaaaam.

I remember years ago research showed plants responded to different stimuli that improved/retarded growth. If that's the case then we shouldn't be eating plants either, I'm sure ripping them out of the ground or off the vine or limb is painfully abusive for them. Hey Ma, what's for dinner? DIRT!?

I was eating an extremely rare, bloody and tasty burger whilst viewing this picture. My reaction?...Still eatin' my burger. Mmmm. BTW, wrapping plastic around your face is dangerous. Hard to breathe.

Well said, everyone. We were designed to need meat. while i don't believe it's necessary to be cruel in the preparation of the animals that become our food, eventually they need to die. It's just part of life. We don't see PETA going into the jungle and chastising lions for hunting zebras, do we? No!!! Because God designed them to eat meat!!! If we denied them of their prey, they would die off. What then, PETA?? Do we feed vitamin supplements to the lions?

Hmmmm, not eat meat? Why not?! Isn't it what we as human beings need to fuel our body & mind? Take that away and we become lazy, lethargic lumps. Life would be boring without a juicy burger or steak to liven things up. Besides, if you were to stroll down the streets of Berlin, you will find many folks bundled up in their expensive fur coats window shopping. Not eating meat is one thing, but buying and wearing a fur coat is what I would deem as animal cruelty. I would much rather nourish my body with the meat from an animal rather than wear it's fur to keep warm. Now, that's what I call disgusting.

Eating meat is NOT necessary! In fact, study after study has shown us that it is more healthful to eat a vegetarian diet. AND the meat industry IS cruel for all the animals involved, and it is making money off of meat-eaters brainwashed minds.

The fact that all the meat eaters leaving comments on this page are so defensive, just proves that they KNOW that eating meat is not only not necessary for survival but it contributes to intolerable abuses. Control your appetites, show a little self control, and show compassion to animals and other peoples who suffer for those appetites. You'll feel much better for it and you'll feel much better about yourself.

But God gave us animals for food!!! Why would He have designed our bodies not to need their nourishment? I personally feel lousy if i go too long without meat, because my body needs the protein!!! It's how my body was made!!! Eating meat has nothing to do with controlling one's appetite or showing self control. It is a resource that our body was designed to need, to process.

That said, everyone's entitled to an opinion. I'm glad that you have yours. Let me have mine and stop accusing me of cruelty and poor self control. I will gladly refrain from making unfounded accusations about your lifestyle choices.

I do have to agree that the U.S. Meat Industry is archaic and abusive, full of poor business practices and extremely inhumane throughout. And, yes, being vegitarian is a healthy choice, if that's your cup of tea. If the industry would clean its act up, we'd all live longer WHILE enjoying a thick t-bone every night.

PETA is just another Socialistic, ram-it-down-your-throat-I-know-what's-best-for-you group of psychos.
