Has sanity been restored? Tens of thousands of people came out to Washington's National Mall on Oct. 30 for the "Rally to Restore Sanity," a mash-up of politics, humor and music put together by Comedy Central cable-TV hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Comedy Central's park permit anticipated that 60,000 spectators would show up, while Colbert estimated the attendance at 6 billion. This satellite picture of the mall, captured by the GeoEye-1 satellite during the rally, gives you an astronaut's-eye view of the crowd from 423 miles up. Maybe those are 6 billion ants ...

What an absolutely amazing photograph. I wish there was a comparison shot for the Beck rally. When I looked at it I said "wow" right out loud. Very cool.
Although I have to admit they look alot like ants swarming over a piece of cake!

I watched the whole show and loved it.
When media mavens take on their own platform, making fun of it and showing how truly absurd the rhetoric spewed from it has become, reality becomes fiction. They took it back to Greek Theater, Freud and Belushi by pointing out what Iggy Pop said so well in his version of Louie, Louie "I turn on the news and it looks like a movie", and a really bad movie at that.
Great performances by all, in including The Craw, I mean Crow. Ribbit.
