Lions, Binta, left, and Chalid are seen in their enclosure of Hanover Zoo in Hanover, Germany, on Nov. 5.

Nag, nag, nag

A coworker and I cracked up when we saw this picture, thinking that the lioness looks as though she is nagging her downtrodden "husband" who is trying to tune her out. Do you think the same, or are we bringing our own, um, "baggage," for lack of a better term, to the picture? It's always interesting to hear what thoughts or feelings others take from an image, based on personal history that they may either consciously on subconsciously apply to the viewing experience.

I wonder if he gets ESPN? It looks like he's wrapped up in a game and she's trying to get his attention.

He looks worried. The females are the hunters of the pride. And the expression on the lioness is one of...ire. If we were to personify an animal.
          They are beautiful though.

He just got home from work. He looks like he had a really hard day. Maybe I should wait until he relaxes before I tell him I bounced three checks and dented the fender. Maybe I should just tell him I dented the fender today and wait until tomorrow to tell him about the checks. I will just play it by ear.

I said the trash can wait until later and I don't want to hear anything more about it until after the game! I am watching the Lions in Detroit wimping out again.
