Remembering Vets

I'm from Ohio, but I haven't been here. How will you honor Veteran's Day this year?

Why is MSNBC showing a cemetary to honor veterans. Memorial day is to honor our fallen military men and women! Veterans Day is to honor those still living.

Vietnam 1969 - We vets may get together for a beer or two on Veterans Day, but the thoughts are of the guys who can't be there with us. I don't need a parade or alot of whoop-a-la to help me take pride in my service. I must admit to being a bit miffed when I see that the banks, schools, government offices get the day off, and I get to go to work. 40+ years have passed, and not one employer has ever given me the day off.

Nice photos and nice thoughts with the the photos.

I believe the term is "interred" (cover up, entomb, inhume, inurn, lay to rest) and not "interned" ( imprison, incarcerate, intern, jail, keep, put a lid on, put away, put on ice, repress, restrain, restrict).

I am in Savannah today and was fortunate to watch their Veteraans Day Parade. I made me so proud to be a Veteran. I am a former Naval Aviator and stood at attention and saluted all fo the soldiers who came marching bye. Most memorable was the WWII Veterans who proudly walked with the flags. I also believe that our country is in good hands. I was very impressed by all of the local Savannah high school JRROTC units who marched. The were from all branches. Young men and women from all colors. We be just fine as a country.
