Again these are very moving photos and I wish they were included in the "Week of Pictures". Thank you so much for sharing these.
It was a very tough week for picking the number one photo. Many good ones and many good ones left out. YOu have a very tough job some weeks.
Your final edit is excellent, IMHO. The two photos here in the outtakes, however, would be very difficult for me to set aside. The beautiful image of the little girl in Yemen and the Veteran's Day photo from Michigan. The latter is rather common but it's touching and very well composed.
My favorite time of the week is looking at these photos. I agree with WyoDan that two outtakes should have made the final cut (but i wouldn't want your job!)
I am with WyoDan. I love the little girl's photo but the sister at her brother's grave almost made me cry. You have a very difficult job - so many of these photos touch my heart and mostly make me thankful.
great expression on the little girl in Yemeni
Such a broad range lets us look for a moment captured and displayed with all else not distracting or competing for our attention, Thank you
Thanks for the views from around the world.
Thanks for your wonderful views from around the world. Love it!
I love the picture of the Yemeni girl in the dress....so innocent.
I have never been moved as I was with Deborah Barr's emotion shown with her brother Daniels' grave stone. Her heartfelt pain. Remember her brother and so many like him are the reason we have the opportunity to view pics and other so many other insignificant bs things. Bless you and all your brothers family and friends - thank you for your hero brother.
What a fantastic set of pictures you have come up with this week. It must be very difficult making those choices!
I have very emotional reactions to many of these, which (I hope) was part of your intent. I still pray for Asia Bibi, her husband, and their three children, and somehow we need to keep them in the spotlight, too. With the picture of Deborah Barr, I felt like I was looking into a very private place where I had no right to be. And the beautiful little girl from Yemen . . . the children are what give us hope for the future.
Thank you for sharing these with us--those that we voted on as well as those that didn't make the cut.
Blasphemy? Really, a death sentence for blasphemy? How is it possible? It's both absurd and redicule worthy. These peoples' collective hysteria would kill people because they know better? Put me on the record declaring the oppressors' all powerful, all knowing god should be (and why isn't he/she/it proving that it is) real enough to take care of dissidents without puny human help. Who, precisely, are the delusional bastards who can't take criticism on the rhetorical chin? Such cowardice mascarading as virtue. Yeah, we'd have it in America, too, if we let those at the religious top get away with it.
