Ice clings to trees and grass along the lakefront after wind gusts upwards of 40 miles per hour blew waves onto the shore and temperatures in the low teens quickly turned the spray to ice December 13, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. Snow, frigid temperatures, and high winds caused the cancelation of over 1,500 flights at the cities airports and wreaked havoc across the Midwest.
