A person bends over the edge of a roof to remove snow from an old shed in Crested Butte, Colo., on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010. A winter weather message was announced Saturday morning from the National Weather Service for West and Southwest mountains of Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. This warning is in effect until midnight Tuesday.

Winter storm warning in effect for mountains of western Colorado, eastern Utah

The areas around Crested Butte could receive up to six feet of snow, while in other spots, two to four feet of snow will be more common according to the National Weather Service's warning. Be careful out there, as the warning also states travel will be nearly impossible at times because of the heavy snowfall. If you're lucky enough to be near the slopes, enjoy making fresh tracks after any avalanche danger has passed!

The Colorado river should have plenty of water in it next spring. This has been a very good snow year (so far) for Colorado thanks to La Nina.

I miss those days in CB. I'm glad to be enjoying 60 degree weather on the other side of the divide right now though.
