Have you seen me? Mystery photographer sought after film found

A New York City man is on a mission to find the owner of a roll of film found in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY, following a blizzard.

Todd Bieber, of Brooklyn, developed the roll of film and has started a quest to reunite the photographer with their photos.

Maybe the guy is a time traveler. Who still uses film?

I took those! The two guys were actually aliens that stopped in for a bite to eat, hence the Nathans hot dog shot. I just don't understand why all aliens look like hippies.

The majority are really nice shots, with a few turds sprinkled in.

I have a set just like this that I took during the NYC Blizzard back in 2003, then again in 2005 and probably in 2006....then I got the message and got the hell out of there

How long ago did camera's start being digital? look at the neck strap of the guy on the right...I don't think this is old film...or maybe i just misinterpreted.

        Reply#6 - Fri Jan 21, 2011 2:53 PM EST

The first "electronic still camera", which we now know as "digital camera" was developed in 1975 and then received a patent in 1978. It wasn't until 1995 that "digital cameras" began to be sold on the market. Steve Sasson was the developer. I agree with you that the look of the pictures make them seem much older than what they probably are; maybe. The digital written on the strap of the camera also makes me think these pictures are not that old, rather made to look old???????

Believe it or not, some people still like to use Black & White film, it is possible that the photographer was looking for contrasts, and not necessarily, color.

the pictures have to be new because that car in the second picture definately isnt as old as the pictures look, the pictures were made to look old.. but its still great photography

They look European so you might have better luck if you can post on whatever the Europeans use like our YouTube.

sounds suspicious to me.  what are the odds of a photographer who still uses film finding a lost roll of film from another photographer who still uses film in the middle of a snowstorm?  it smacks a bit of a self-promotion scheme.   great way to get your work noticed on a grand scale.  cudos to him if thats the case and it works.  good luck in the search if not.

Notice both guys in the picture have a camera around their neck.  They may have been just random guys the photographer took a picture of.  Obviously the picture is posed.  Could be the photographer was crossing the Brooklyn bridge and he asked these guys to pose for him with the bridge in the background.

Art photographers still use film, also people from other parts of the world.

I took these photos. They are meant as a testament to everything I can't stand so I could throw them away.

The street lights, the fairly new Nissan truck, looks like any other picture that has been Corel Photoshopped. The dude looks like a lady, nope, just another web joke to me.

OK, I watched the video this time, more to it than these 2 pictures. Yeah it could be black and white film. It's believable. I still have cameras from the 40's and 50's that work. It's not a lost art, B&W is still photo art. The dude still looks like a lady..

Going to go with Photo-shop hoax, 2 cameras, 2 people, no third person. Also I think they went overon the B&W aged look. Show me the negatives for 500 Alex.

No red head this time but notice there is a nice blonde in one of the pictures.

Even though its film..one of those guys uses digital..its on the camera strap.

Looks like this happened fairly recently.  What year is that Nissan SUV in the second photo?  They are at least that new, unless the drive of the Nissan is a time traveler - than the photos are at least as recent as 1916 :)

Plenty of professional photographers still use film.  Many seem to prefer the color values from film over digital.

The shots are gorgeous -- and yes, they do appear European.

I have one observation to pass along. These guys are definitely brothers. Their noses are identical. Another observation...I don't think the shots are that amazing. Any photos in black and white look artier.

If they are brothers, they are half-brothers - different mother or father!

These were taken when the big snow hit NY recently.
