A dog named Muldoon waits in the snow for its owner, Tess Taylor, who stopped for coffee on Feb. 2 in Barre, Vt. Schools, businesses and municipal offices are closed across Northern New England as the storm-weary region braces for what forecasters say could be more than a foot of snow in some places.

A dog waits faithfully in the snow for its owner

The dog should be inside and the owner should be tied to the fire hydrant. It is amazing how some pet owners treat their animals. They get cold too!!

I know this photo is supposed to demostrate the love and loyality of the owner's dog, but what it conveys to me is how the owner repays this love and loyalty - by stopping to enjoy a hot coffee in comfort while leaving her pet to wait in the snow.

Someone call the authorities. We don't leave living things locked in hot cars in the summer and we shouldn't be tying them to fire hydrants in ice storms either.

Tess should have her ass kicked.

Actually, the dog is probably pretty happy. I have a golden retriever puppy. It nearly killed me to take him for a walk this morning with wind chills of about 0 degrees. But he loved it and wanted to stay out in the back yard after we got back. My fingers were practically frost bitten by the time we got back.

I know for a fact that he did NOT want to come into the house where it was a bit warmer (We've been having rolling electrical blackouts, so not much warmer).

Let's just hope this stupid woman doesn't have children. No telling where she would leave them for coffee. She's lucky I live in sunny California as I would have taken the dog had I seen it tied to a fire hydrant in a snow storm. Poor doggie...I would gladly take him or her to live with me where the pup could run on the beach.

when i saw this precious big fellow sitting so patiently waiting for his master i was shocked of this treatment as well. maybe he can take it but come on lady be a little more responsible, get him a little shelter and don't make him sit on the icy snow. Debbie you maybe right that he likes it outdoors but my guess is he would love running in it not sitting still.
