I'm an independent voter who finds the candidates and media both condescending and juvenile in their "attitude" towards Iowans. First, the candidates approach us like they're running for deacons of a church, when we're looking for a Commander-in Chief. The media follows these pandering charlatans to every small town Pizza Ranch, earnestly reporting their nuggets of inconsequential brimstone, as "news". We WANT "gotcha" questions from the media, not the lazy reporting we've been given. Little wonder that the world thinks of us as hayseeds, when candidates and media spend their PAC dollars and spending accounts making their own stories and then retreating to the nearest hotel room or bar. Or church. The voters want to know how these candidates will create the millions of jobs they promise and restore manufacturing jobs they helped send abroad, never to return. What deregulation of industries, that have made our streams, rivers, & lakes the recipients of corporate hog confinement excrement will help us? How will continuing tax cuts to the wealthy "job creators" make Iowa or the nation better in the future? Why, doesn't the media ask tough questions anymore? Is everyone in on the game? Don't blame Iowans. Take a good look in the mirror.
