An inflatable doll drifts in the air along a beach in Cancun, Mexico on March 8. Fewer US college revelers are expected in Mexico for this year's Spring Break after Texas officials last week warned co-eds to stay away from beach destinations like Cancun.

Is this the Spring Break equivalent of tumbleweed? Read more on the security warning to US students or watch the video below.

It never ceases to amaze me how gullible many Americans are! In a country where ordinary people are allowed to carry guns and shootings over arguments or parking lots are a weekly occurrence, its an absolute joke to warn people not to travel to Mexico. If in a glass house one shouldn't throw with stones!!!! I have lived in Cancun for over 10 years and yes, violence has increased like anywhere else in this world BUT I have seen more violence in just one state (Florida) watching the local news on 5 visits over 4 months than I have seen in 10 years in Cancun. If people 'behave' ie. don't go to poor areas flashing money or jewelry, don't do drugs and don't get stupidly drunk and upset people or go out with barely no clothes flashing their bits and inviting other drunks to rape them, its still as safe as anywhere else in the world. There should also be travel warnings to go to the US! Its all propaganda in a low economy to keep the money in their own country!
