A panoramic image of the airport in Sendai, Japan shows the damage from the earthquake and tsunami, which is only now beginning to be cleaned up. However, the continuing threat of radiation from the damaged reactors in the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant is hampering rescue and recovery efforts in the region. Being from New Orleans, I am reminded of the utter devastation as far as the eye could see---and while riding in a car for 20 minutes---everywhere you look--total devastation. Really remarkable. Sad to see any humans going through this devastation--especially on this large scale. Their govt (and all govts), needs to be honest with their people regarding the nuclear fallout issues... so adults can properly prepare to protect their families. Children dont have the capacity to prepare-- yet govts are treating their populations like children. The lesson learned from Katrina is to be prepared because govt wont save you. They can only respond in a limited fashion. The Japanese people are now experiencing the same thing on an even bigger scale than Katrina...and it sounds like the "response model" is still the same...

There is but one path to enlightenment, sorry to say but most are nowhere near that path. Most seem to be going the wrong way, but who am I to say. I often feel just as lost. I feel that the Japanese are far closer to walking the right path, and I wish them great speed with the recovery/rebuilding of their homes.

What the hell was that! I don't think I understood anything you posted. I wish you religious nuts would stop trying to put things into a "god" perpective. The "pretend fartball" is just that, pretend.

when we have a natural disaster like this one, why do people always have to quote GOD & the BIBLE??

why don't they just put their strength, support, money's and goodwill where and when needed.

god is responsible for all things good and bad.....but, most especially the bad....god is evil and should you be given the choice....choose Satan....he hates us and makes no bones about it. god is a fickle tease and likes to toy with us and make us suffer enormously....then kills us and sends us to hell. god is one sick puppy....needs some serious shrink time!!

People never apply logic to the Bible. I have been re-translating Scripture verses for 3 decades, and have found the majority of traditional translations poorly lacking in accuracy. Example: Isaiah 34:149(b) "the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest." The original hebrew word for "screech owl" was "creature of the night, Lilith the Vampire." The men who translated the King James Version of the Bible purposely made a decision not to put the correct translation in. To them it must have seemed too Satanic, yet it is the true translation. There are two Bible versions that I know of that did use some of the true verses. One used "Lilith, the night creature," and the other used "the Vampire."

The point I am making, is that most people who quote the Bible, have no idea what the original words really say. They quote the translations, which is NOT the Word of God. They are only the translations of men who put their own spin on it. The God of the Old Testament is not the one spoken of in the New Testament. There are three Gods. The Father, Elohim (the female/Holy Spirit) Mother, and their Son, Yeshua. When it says "God is One," the word "One" refers to (One in composition or essence, not One in agreement.) It means they are all Gods. So you have three Gods, a family of Gods if you will, who don't agree on how to run the world. That is why there has been so much chaos in earth's history.

The Father in the Old Testament says He's a God of War and Destruction, as was evidenced in the horrible Tsunami of Japan. The Son is the one who wants to bless those who suffer with His grace to overcome all the suffering. If people would study the Word of God to show themselves acceptable to God, as the Scriptures says to do, then there wouldn't be so much ignorance about Who God really is, and why there is a God of Love, but also a Father God Who likes to cause earthquakes. Logic people. Otherwise, those who say, how can a God of Love allow all of this to happen, are correct. A God of Love didn't cause the earthquake. Unfortunately for us, the God of Love is the Father God's Son, Who does want to save us from the anger and hatred of His Father, but Who isn't in charge of creation. That is why the world is full of so much misery and suffering. One God causes it, and the Son/God wants to heal and save it from His Father's vindictive and harsh personality.

God cursed this creation in Genesis. He never has removed the curses He put on us. He cursed all life with death. The Son, Yeshua, is our only hope to save our souls. He laid down His life to save us from His Father's death curses. He paid the price with His blood sacrifice. Scripture says, "There is no salvation except through the shedding of blood." If you consider the Father loves war and destruction, it is logical to believe that He would make such a law. The Son, Yeshua, our Messiah, shed His blood as the perfect sin free sacrifice in our place. If anyone looks at all the evil in the world, and thinks that a "God of Love" is in charge, they are just plain stupid. God can't be in control of everything as some like to say, then in their next breath say, God doesn't cause all the suffering in the world. Who else has the power to do anything without God allowing it? If only humanity would take off their rose colored glasses and use some logic, they would cling to the Son, Yeshua, for their eternal life, and avoid God the Father's obvious hatred for this creation.

I feel so sad for Japan it's just to much for the people of Japan.  It's not arashi it's an earth quake and tsunami that's not arashi.  The people who knows japanese language well know the word arashi.  It's name after a Japan music group.  But Japan been having these earth quake for centuries.  I was looking more then 1500 years ago.   It's because we are in the ring of fire and the pacific plate.  My heart goes out the people of Japan because I have relatives in south part of Japan.

It is really a shame that such angry strength and opposition is used when someone mentions God or the Bible. Equally said it is sad that anyone feels the need to judge based on their religious or non-religous views. I happen to be a Christain Seventh Day Adventist. I'm sure I'll reap some sour comments just for stating my connection with a specific denomination. So be it. I'm not judging anyone for their beliefs. It isn't my place to judge anyone, lest let he who is free of sin cast the first stone. The whole glass house thing. I do believe there is a creator and I call him Heavenly Father and sometimes I call him God.

To those of you who don't share my belief in God I have a question. When you're hurting in some way or something really bad has happened in your life who do you call upon? Have you ever said something like, "Oh God please help me" or maybe when you've seen some kind of horrible accident have you ever uttered under your breathe "Oh my God", "Oh God" or maybe even "God please help those people"?

I can appreciate finding the Bible hard to understand or even believe in sometimes. It was written by people in a different time and different way of speaking. But make no mistake about it, you do have a creator. Whatever or whoever you believe in, bottomline all of us have a creator.

freedomlover-2544359 I have heard some far out explanations concerning religion but you have to be the fartherest off center that I have ever read. Did you do drugs in the past? Is alcohol a regular part of your daily life? I've read some of you other comments as well. Perhaps reincarnation is your strong suit? Good luck with everything, you're gonna need it.

well here we are reading alot of the religion veiw. lets simplify this it is amazing that the terminal appears to be

intact. The debri is intense!! the power of the tsunami reflected. we should hope to see pictures of the water

receeding. people reclaiming the airport and using it to bring aid to the devastated area. it should be hard for

everyone to see such devastation and not feel concerned I am for the people who need the basics food, water,

and shelter. Yes, everyone may feel the impact in the very long term. I hope we start to consider improving

our veiw of how we relate to the planets surprises.

Let's look at the bigger picture. People are destitute and hungry and they require every assistance. And that is a bigger issue than what was the cause of the disaster.  In my opinion, it was a 'natural' disaster. Natural causes!

All evil on earth is only a product of what humans have done anyway.

This was an "act of God"--uncontrollable, unexpected, devastating. But before you all go into your right-wing, evangelical extremism please study theology--Rahner, Aquinas, Tillich, Borg, Augustine would all be a good start. God did not wish this on anyone nor send it as some sort of punishment. How we respond to this will certainly indicate how we are the hands and heart of God on earth. May the Holy Spirit guide all of us in our response.

Unfortunately I am not in a place where I can help out financially, my children and I have been going through old clothes and shoes and I have boxes of stuff that has barely ever been worn or used and I can not find anyone who can tell me where I can send this stuff to to help these people out in any way. I cant even imagine how many people there are out there that are doing NOTHING to try to help the people that have had to endure this tradgedy. If anyone could direct me to some place where I could find out where or how to send these things that I want to donate it would be very much appreciated.
