A panoramic image of the airport in Sendai, Japan shows the damage from the earthquake and tsunami, which is only now beginning to be cleaned up. However, the continuing threat of radiation from the damaged reactors in the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant is hampering rescue and recovery efforts in the region. I love to hear the stories of everyday people being heros, not because they are thinking "I'm gonna' be a hero" but because inside their heart they are good people and they do what needs to be done, when it needs done. People in Japan who lost everything, yet stay up days and nights looking for and caring for the people in their community. The people here in our country or other countries who's hearts are touched, who want to help. On fb I read about a man who is looking with builders he can link up with and during his summer vacation (he's a school teacher) he wants to go help rebuild. I believe in God, (and I'm not an idiot) and for those who say you can't know...yes you can...God tells you....then you know. Nevertheless, this is an act of nature, and for those who believe in the mercy and goodness of a 'supreme being' their hearts are touched and they want to help. They want to do good. The word 'God' is actually an anglo-saxon word it means ultimate good or supreme good...so we are talking here about a being who is supremely good. I don't think someone who is supremely good would do 'mean' things on purpose to people. We live in a 'world' this is what it does, it has earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, etc. you live here, you deal with it. Like someone here said though if you believe in God and his goodness you don't have to deal with it alone, he is real and there is a real tangiable peace he sends when tragidy strikes. So, yes I pray to someone of ultimate good to bless the people of Japan with peace, and the ability to deal with such enormous tragidy, there isn't anyone else who can. Seems to me I'd rather live as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't; then to live as if there isn't a God and die to find out there is.

Yes you nut jobs just keep praying for Japan and I am sure in no time your god will clean it all up and the whole thing will go away. Keep praying. You've got to be kidding me with this garbage. My faith lies in science and science tells me no man can live in a whales stomach for three days and come out alive. Or how about the one where god covered the entire earth with frogs, or maby moses could come part the pacific ocean so we can see the real damage at the bottom of the ocean. Welcome to reality you nut jobs!!!!

Take a good look at the way a "Civilized people" handle a disaster you lowlife's in New Orleans. No rioting. Nobody sticking out their hand demanding anything. People helping their fellow man and woman. Children under control. When I see the pictures of the scumbags in New Orleans looting, rioting, shooting people, it makes me happy that the ones seen floating belly down are gone. Too bad all the maggots didn't go away. As for that moron that referred to us Caucasians as "Vanilla", well, you got yours. I sent $1k in a donation to Japan via the Red Cross. After Katrina, I sent a case of dog food to the United Way. I hope you ate hearty. You are what you eat........

Is there a moderator here to these discussions? MSNBC? Anyone? The discussions have gotten out of hand. Please focus on your comments directly related to the photo. This is not the place for a theological facebook-esque argument.
