U.S. woman asking to keep disabled kangaroo

According to the AP. Christie Carr, a depressed Oklahoma woman, has found solace in a kangaroo named Irwin, but local city officials worry that the partially paralyzed therapy pet could become a public safety risk. See the full story here

My first thought was, "Good grief, woman, get a dog!"

An obvious ploy to get attention and it seems to be working. The city should hold firm on this one, although if that's a standard size kangaroo, she won't be carrying it around that much longer.
