Panoramic image: In Japan, a Statue of Liberty stands above tsunami wreckage

A 28 foot tall replica of America's Statue of Liberty, which was created last spring as a tourist attraction, is surrounded by destroyed buildings in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, on March 28.  Crews have started clearing the wreckage, leaving behind small tiles and stones. Looking at these and other countless images, i just can't wrap my head around the devastation. This place will never be the same and rebuilding seems like it will take a century and gazillions $$$.

Forget about if another earthquake hits, not to mention the reactor meltdown, which they have not acted upon fast enough. The radiation damage is already at biblical levels, don't believe its not!!!

I hope the powers of the universe send some good to Japan!

Sadly, it is more appropriate in Japan than here.

Our liberties (what we have left) are constantly under attack from our government.

Not just this administration, but for 50 years of administrations.

This is kind of disgusting. Is this front page news worthy considering the tragedy over there? Sad.

Maybe it's an April Fools Hoax?

Google made a ridiculous video about a new way of writing emails called "Gmail Motion". Maybe this was an attempt at a joke. However, it is slightly morbid.

Wow. This is one of the most disgusting news stories I've ever seen. As an American, I apologize to the world for this bit of jingoistic arrogance.

The Japanese people will rebuild faster than you can imagine.
