Protesters injured after thousands rallied against arrest of an alleged insurgent in Afghanistan

One person died and ten others were wounded when shooting broke out at a protest north of Kabul on Monday against the detention of an alleged insurgent by foreign and Afghan forces, officials said. About 3,000 people rallied in Charikar, the capital of Parwan province about 30 miles (50 kilometres) north of the capital, after the arrest of three men by NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and Afghan forces.
