Authorities evacuated 28 families living in the building last week after cracks began to form in the structure. A part of the building collapsed a day after the evacuation. The reason of the collapse is not clear, but shoddy construction, lack of building regulation and corruption have been blamed for past cases of building collapse in Turkey, according to local media.
