Great photo. The Red Army bore the brunt of fighting in WWII. Most high school history textbooks in the U.S. focus on the actions of the U.S. and Great Britain on the Western front. At the time of the Normandy invasion, the Red Army had been battling the Wehrmacht for three years on a scale that was 5X troop levels on the Western front.
