Brendan Earley, 10, of Davison, Mich. puts on his own car show while waiting for the start of the Back to the Bricks Mitten Promo Tour in the parking lot on Friday, June 17, 2011 in Flint, MI.
Boy waits for car show to start in Flint
By James Cheng
To me this picture looks like an illustration by Norman Rockwell for the Saturday Evening Post.

WOW, it really does look like a picture from another era. Everything about the boy - his clothes, hair, pose...even the pouch he's carrying for his cars...makes the picture look vintage and Rockwellian. Great shot.
Nostalgic indeed ! Who wouldn't want to be 10 yrs old again-just for a couple minutes-innocent, hopeful, at peace with self and mankind. Reminds me of what America was prior to WW11 or just after. I wanted to take him by the hand and take him for a ride in every car in the show. It certainly would have made my day. If the world was governed by the Spirit of children we would have Paradise here on Earth. Definitely a Norman Rockwell-like caricature !
Rockwellian for certain!
Rockwellian for sure!
