Flowers are laid following a service at the memorial to the victims of the July 7, 2005 London bombings in Hyde Park on July 7, 2011 in London, England. Today marks the 6 year anniversary of the terrorist attacks by four suicide bombers on the London Underground and a bus in Tavistock Square which claimed the lives of 52 people.

Today's anniversary follows this week's news about the alleged phone-hacking scandal, which may include some of the victims of the transportation bombings, and the latest news that News Corp will close the News of the World tabloid.
