Military personnel march down University Avenue during the San Diego gay pride parade July 16 in San Diego, California. About 200 active-duty troops and veterans from every branch of the military participated for the first time in the march as the ban on the government policy on homosexuals serving in armed forces, or "Don't ask Don't Tell", remains in flux in the justice system.

San Diego sailors march in gay pride parade

Seems like they are ignoring "Don't ask Don't Tell" in San Diego.

As AP reported:

Many of the active-duty troops said they were moved to come out because it is time to end the military's ban on openly gay troops. The march comes a day after a federal appeals court reinstated the "don't ask, don't tell" policy but with a caveat that prevents the government from investigating or penalizing anyone who is openly gay.

I can remember when freaks like these homofaguals would have the snot kicked out of them and then booted out of the military. God help America with perverts like this defending our country.

Homofaguals have a tendency to fall overboard when far out to sea and no witnesses. Just another old time Navy tradition these fruits will soon learn about.

    @ woodsman1st: Are you
suggesting that you condone pushing one of these "homofaguals"
overboard just to teach them a lesson. Sounds like an act of violence to me.
And your point is what, exactly? Dude, grow up. As a taxpayer, I value ALL
military personal.. let's see, they are trained on the government dime...they
learn advanced technical skills so that they can run the world's best, most
modern military. Some of them are even skilled in foreign languages. Not only
do they defend our great country, but they often serve as cultural ambassadors
in parts of the world where no tourist would dream of going. I wouldn't so
callously joke about kicking the snot out of them because they are gay. And
this time you remember so fondly, when they would have been targeted for
    violence, it's over, dude.

Don't see anything remotely "perverted" in that parade, just Good Soldiers standing tall and marching proud.

They're not "shoving" anything in your face - and with good reason. Don't want to catch any nasty disease, and myownwords has a bad case of foolish bigotry.

If homofaguals were really proud of what, not who, they are, they would not need to join in these disgusting displays of weird people. There is no such thing as "gay pride"; only shame that they chose to live such a perverted lifestyle

You dont see real men marching down the street screetching about their se x lives; only the homofaguals do this in an attempt to mask their shame.

Who said they were homosexuals? The article just said that 200 active duty troops, participated in the parade. Lots of Heterosexual people march in the parade to lend moral support, could be these troops are jus not bigoted and feel strongly about supporting civil rights.

People march in gay pride parades to support gay rights. Doesn't necessarily mean that they are gay themselves. It wasn't only black people who marched for civil rights for African Americans, you know.

What a great recruiting ad for the Navy. Everyone knows most gays join the Navy anyway. Who would want to be on a ship of men or a submarine for months on end? They even have their names printed on the rear parts of their uniforms. How open is that?

m-1730435: And which Branch of Service did you serve? I am straight and I resent your comment, because I served as a Yeoman (VA / VFA-113) in the Navy during the 80s and I can tell you MOST Sailors are NOT gay. You can say "how do I know", but I can say "how do you know (4 sure) who is and who isn't?", unless they tell you, so that is moot. But I am reasonably sure that most are straight.

I didn't have a problem with gays, as long as they did not "try me." I would, in no uncertain terms, let them know I was straight I resented their UNSAT approach to me.

Face it, they are part of all societies and have every right to serve. However, I don't think they should flaunt it; it's not necessary. Straight people don't flaunt how straight they are, so what is their point?

I see you feel the need to flaunt your heterosexuality. You did it just now when you said you're straight. Why do you feel the need to inflict that upon the rest of us?

And exactly what are you afraid of by the thought of someone of the same sex hitting on you? That you'll like it? Are you incapable of simply saying, "I'm sorry. I'm not interested"?

Keep your homophobia in check and there won't be a problem. There's no reason for you to flaunt that.

Raidaz2010.....I want to say that I appreciate your response and thank you for trying to be open-minded. I commend you for your service and sincerely thank you. I do want to say, for the record, that I am sad for your last small paragraph.....as you cannot see how in everyday life, heterosexuality is flaunted. Those who are not heterosexual don't necessarily flaunt their sexuality, rather they don't hide it......but because it isn't mainstream behavior, those who are in the mainstream see it as flaunting. Yes, marching in a parade is "flaunting" or "announcing" your sexuality........but after being forced into the closet and suffering through discrimination, can't you see how it might be liberating to exhibit such behavior. Look at women's lib and the civil rights era.......publicly demonstrating your beliefs is an act of defiance and healing. I hope that you can understand that. If not, we can agree to disagree.......but I still respect you for your service and your attempt at understanding.

Brian P. Evans: I have had gays try to hit on me and I dammit don't like it! I date / love women & women ONLY. It comes natural to me, no flaunt. What makes gays think any man is interested, or do they not care - just try them all? I was at night clubs (considered straight - BUKU females in there!) when a couple instances occurred. That alone should have been a sign of a man's freaky interest, considering there are gay clubs/bars/associations, etc., for gays to meet their mates.

It also happened while I was in the Navy. Could have reported it, but didn't want to get the dude in trouble. I DON'T hate on people because they are different.

And I am capable of saying "not interested - IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS". Why the hell apologize to say no? R U kidding me?

Perhaps gays should "stay in check; not in closet", by not going to clubs or bars crawling with females, if/when they are looking for males. They are free to enter any club, but why? Nothing good happens, if they approach a man who is looking to get a honey, in a club full of women. Just sayin.

Carsonk: I do understand the reason for celebration, since you put it in that light. Thanks, and agreeing to disagree is what I say to folks all the time - cool. It allows for different opinions without conflict.

              @residenttroll,

Why are you parroting a hate-group talking point? Can't you think for yourself? And don't claim you did think it up because it's unlikely you'd come up with the same stupid idea that hate groups use when trying to scare parents to vote against anti-discrimination laws.

Do you really think there exists an "homosexual agenda" to indoctrinate schoolkids, some as young as kindergarten or even preschool, to insure future generations of lgbt? Who in their right mind would bother to do such a thing? Do straight parents worry about insuring future generations of hets? Or do they just want to have and raise their own kids?

The idea only makes sense if you don't think about it too much (all lgbt must have had straight parents. but for reasons unknown a small percentage of kids born to straights invariably become lgbt, thus there will always be this wonderful diversity in the population - no recruitment necessary).

But I tell you this very dumb idea has really been put out there by these hate groups. Only genuinely twisted fundamentalist jackasses would spend their time thinking up such vile lies just to discriminate against other human beings.

Let's thank the homosexual agenda for undermining the greatest US masculine icons of all time....the cowboy and the soldier. The new politically correct icon... the homosexual.

What is wrong with a progressive icon - only a faux Islamicist like the hard croe dems or repubs would have a probelm with progress. My step siblings father is gay and served in the Air Force. He's been with his partner for years. KMA!

I don't really think that there are many gay people who are looking for q job as a Cowboy. You must be much closer to death than birth with even thinking of something as archaic as that!!

Those that demean the service of gay soldiers should try it sometime.

                  Try what?

                  Putting makeup on my face?

                  Wearing pink?

                  Getting buttholed?

                  NO THANKS.

A big FYI, mr. intolerant troll-thing!!!!, not all homosexuals are crossdressers, nor do they want to be a woman, nor do all like it up the "poop-shoot". Resident, it is not ignorant of you to have your own views and opinions, everyone is entitled to that. What is ignorant, are the people who believe that they are better than others because of their own views and opinions, and feel the need to spew their hate all over the place. If I were a vegetarian, I would view eating meat as a perversion, but that would not give me the right to say that I am better than everyone else ( to the vegetarians, no, I am not saying you would say that). I do not think that I am better than you or the other intolerant people commenting, but I do see them as peverse as they believe they are better than everyone else who is not like them.

What's ignorant is your inability to explain any way in which it actually causes harm, coupled with your refusal to consider that it might just be harmless.

First, I would like the bridge to be orange, that is my favorite color. Second, you are allowed to believe that same-sex couples are disgusting, but you cannot treat them as though they are worth any less just because you don't like them. Third, the BuyBull has nothing to do with the U.S. Constitution in this, non-theocratic, SECULAR country, which guarantees rights to all.

First, thank each and every one of you who served on here, on the battle field and in the parade. Second, before anyone of you opens your mouth go put a uniform on and serve for at least four years before you treat anyone like second class citizens. Yes, we have freedom of speech. It was a gay parade. There are plenty of people who support all kinds of events and this is no different. For those who did serve and feel the need to be concerned with what another person is doing. I strongly suggest you look at yourself first because you aren't perfect either. I served and as such I am proud of my service for my country. Sexual orientation shouldn't even be a factor because if you don't want to be bothered you simply need to say no. Good day.

Hello my fellow Americans! I have been serving this great country of ours since 07 August 1979 and finally retired in 01 October 2010 between two services. Army and Coast Guard. Yes! I had fellow gay soldiers and fellow gay sailors that I'd worked with. Was I looking at them weird? In a way I did; but the intimate space among us was very well kept with respect and dignity. As long as there is no allowing of any touching or fondling, we all be COOL!! But you touch that ASS, is not going to be not just a slap in the hand G.I.; you will be charged under the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) for SEXUAL HARASSMENT.

Thanks for making my point even more clear. There is a right and wrong way to approach someone. However, I know growing up in the south football players also had their ways and one of which was a slap on the rear. I think most of this can be resolved out of respect and simply stating yes or no if you are asked something you may or may not like. No need for people not to be adults about it. Thats why there is a such thing as consent between two people.

That's not the issue. Of course, inappropriate behavior should not be tolerated. And from my observations it was usually straight males that were inappropriate with straight females.
