Heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking to see so many young smiling faces, that will never smile again. May justice be swift and may hearts heal swifter.

When you see the faces of the victim, you get a glimpse of that there was no ideology at work here. Only a sick and demented mind. I think the faces of the victims should be the front page news from here on in. Not the picture of the murderer.

Absolutely there was an ideology at work here. They were killed for being tolerant by an anti-Muslim terrorist.

as long as we remember the killer not by his 'religion' or 'nationality' but his mental and social status (Insane, Mass-Murderer) and keep his 2000 pages of whiping paper of a 'book' from public view, then at least the killer doesn't win... as long as we continue to do otherwise, HE wins.

But they will smile again... spirits such as these young souls will light the darkened path for the rest of us through these and troubled times ahead. If we can't believe in a higher destiny after leaving here, than the altenative becomes too depressing. Speaking for myself, I choose to believe that each of these beautiful shining stars were immediately blessed with what would've been their special gift and contribution to the rest of us down here. It is there love that will keep my lamp lit for a very long time. "When God calls a close one to come above, it's to help shower down their special love". This is a exerpt from a song I wrote a long time ago called "Immortality". I hope these words help someone else besides me.

It's painful to see young beautiful faces and know their parents and friends are no longer able to touch, learn and laugh with them.  What causes someone's differences to kill their contradictor. Who teaches this behavior?

It's a "My Way" or "The Highway" world. Scary!

I agree w/ your sentiment wholeheartedly...however, we should be aware that there were also old, ugly and 'non-smiling' faces in that group, as well...a broad spectrum of people who covered a wide range of physical and spiritual ways of being, who all had one thing in common: they did not want to, nor deserved to be, slaughtered by a madman. I understand the tendency to pick out the loss of the young, beautiful and vibrant ones...but all had value and are missed. I'm sure that it was just an oversight; I just wanted to point it out for us to think upon.

PirateFarmer, to someone in their 90s, all of these people are young and beautiful. To someone who is 5 years old, they're all old. In any event, age and beauty are subjective, and therefore hardly worth wasting a paragraph vainly attempting to point out. Just something else to think upon.

Ok, so I look at these pictures, young and old and I do not see anything ugly. Every one of them is beautiful and loved. They have the love of strangers who would never have seen their faces, as they loved each other, living and working together for the summer. Many of our US youths are sitting in the house playing games or out getting into trouble. These folks were truly innocent and good. I can not imagine ever having to go through an experience like this involving a loved one. Bless the families, friends and survivors.

Wow. This ruined my night. Putting even a few faces with that slaughter is incredibly painful. They should do this with any mass killing anywhere - gather photos of the victims smiling and alive. I'd love to shove them in Glenn Beck's face, make him stare at them for a few hours. Those poor kids... I'm not a fan of the death penalty, but the guy who did this should just be put in solitary for the rest of his life. Just feed him. Don't talk to him. Don't let him have visitors. Just let him have nothingness. People always talk about castrations and tortures not being good enough for people who did this kind of thing - just leave him alone with his thoughts with no hope of ever having anything more. That would be justice.

All those lives, all those dreams, all that potential - just snuffed out by some sociopath with a gun who needed to feel important. It's too horrible to contemplate, but we absolutely need to.

There's no such thing as Christian terroists. I really detest this comment. He was no Christian. Many people on earth profess to be a Christian but don't live the lifestyle of a true believer. A true Chritians loves themselves, God, and others and obey God's laws and commandments. The Bible tells us "Thou shalt not kill." This is no act of a Christian but of the devil. He's the one who hates and wants to see people dead and go to hell. The devil speaks to many people's mind to kill and destroy others. That's his job on this earth, to kill, steal, and to destroy so don't consider this man a christian. I pray that God will truly save this sinner from his sins. He needs Jesus, which is our only hope for today, except many people don't won't Jesus yet profess his name. I pray that God will comfort the heart of the families and bless them through their hurt and pain. God bless this nation and save it!!

I also STRONGLY protest FROGS statement. For you to say something as hateful as that puts you in the same category as the demon who committed these acts... what are you going to do now FROG? Wipe out a church? Your an idiot!!
