Female Iranian climbers practice in Band-e-Yakhchal mountains

Given the Islamic dress code in Iran, it's pretty surprising to see these women climbers near Tehran dressed like western women.

     I ran, I climbed.

This photo is interesting for several reasons.  One being two completely different climbing skills being demonstrated during the competition. Two being The gal on the left is using an etrier and a jumar, and the gal on the right is top roped and basically Free Climbing.  Three being the gal on the left is wearing a helmet and the gal on the left isn't.  Four being their style of dress is radically different as well.  On the left we have a nylon wind suit, and on the right a stretch tunic top and bell bottom pants.

It could well be that the gal on the left is Hanging Out and belaying a buddy
