NYC murals pay tribute to victims of 9-11 attacks

As the 10-year anniversary of the September 11 attacks approaches, memories of that fateful day can be seen at nearly every corner. Reuters photographer Shannon Stapleton photographed some of the highly detailed scenes scribed on walls, garage doors,  and firehouses across the five boroughs.

We bring these photos to you today, as a mural of reflections is set to be installed at ground zero. The mural, comprised of handwritten notes from people who live and work in lower Manhattan, will serve as a public arts project, according to the Daily News.
