There are flattering pictures of people and not so flattering pictures of people. I think you can get away with a not so flattering picture if you have substance within your soul. It's not so much that Newsweek published an unflattering picture, it is that Michele Bachmann is full of rage against anything other than extreme right wing fundamentalist beliefs. She would not be an appropriate leader for America. She does not speak for freedom. It's not the picture that is turning people off.

      Isobel,

You have articulated the concern very well. The American people are sick of anger and hate-filled politics. We have real problems that need addressing by leaders who can do more than rant and spread venom.

Now THAT...is the real, unvarnished Michelle Bachmann that we all know and love.  If you've ever wanted to see ferocious driving ambition in a person's eyes, this is it.

In this picture she just saw a butterfly or something... that is NOT a look of ambition. Or maybe I'm wrong and her face makes her look like a... umm... dingbat naturally.

Bias? How can one take a biased photo?  That's like calling someone biased who quotes the nuts word for word (Rachel Maddow) and then the speaker denies he ever said it and then sues you.  And it's all on the internets in video.  These teabaggers are NUTZ.  They don't really live in the same world as the rest of us.

She looks crazy in ALL photos I've seen of her. The Newsweek photographer isn't the problem.

As a Minnesotan, I've been exposed to MANY photos and videos featuring her face. And I can tell you - she always looks like that. Really. This photo is just untouched, and I think that bothers people that like her. I don't think Newsweek and Time (for that matter) make a practice of retouching their photos of people on the cover.

she always has that "possessed" look on her face; cause she is. she hears "voices".
