Is Sasha sad? Obama family vacation ends at Martha's Vineyard

Why the long face, Sasha?

When I spotted this image I started to think back about the end of my childhood summer vacations. And though my family didn't spend our retreats at Martha's Vineyard, I imagine my facial expression would be composed of just as much consternation, especially given that their vacation was cut short.

I suppose she is a little sad leaving their vacation spot - knowing she will soon be returning to school. It is always hard to leave summer behind but once kids get back to school, being back with friends and routine, life gets back to normal again. Before she knows it Sasha will be looking forward to another summer and another vacation with her family - it's part of life and growing up. As far as where the Obamas or anyone goes on vacation - that's not what is important. What is important to all families, including the Obamas, is sharing fun and good times together. It can be on Martha's Vineyard or the backyard - family and fun is what it is and has always been about. I hope Sasha and her family enjoyed themselves and good luck to both girls as they start another year of school.

Maybe the expression is simply because both she is tired and THE SUN IS BRIGHT!!

She might just be tired of having a camera pointed straight at her face 24/7.
