Chris "The Dutchess" Walton shows off her fingernails that total 19 feet 9 inches (6.02 meters) in length, Sept.14, at the New York Public Library, setting a record that puts her in the new Guinness World Records 2012 book. Walton's nails measure 10 feet 2 inches (3.1 meters) on her left hand and 9 feet 7 inches (2.92 meters) on her right hand and has been growing her nails for 18 years.
Yikes! I would think this would seriously impair your ability to do lots of things. I wonder if she is looking forward to cutting them off after spending the last 18 years growing them, now that she's in the record books. I also wonder how she gets her ring on and off.

I sure hope she has her own money, i.e., not on public welfare. Surely this kind of fingernails would disrupted her daily life, including employment.

That's disgusting! How can the finger nails possibly grow that long without breaking? She must have a lot of help with everyday necessities of life. I agree with the other people.
Really gross. And, I don't even want to think what she does or doesn't do after going to the bathroom..Who dresses her? The nails are so thick they are undoubtedly full of fungus too.

I am finding it absolutely ridiculous that the majority of you people posting are saying that this woman has no job and cannot care for herself....Pardon me madam, but DO YOU KNOW HER? What's that?
