AFP Reports:
Proceeds from the sale of the brat at the German restaurant's 26th annual Octoberfest celebration were donated to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. Father Scott Donahue was on hand to measure the brat, which came in at 47 feet and three inches. The brat weighed in at 40 pounds and was made from a pork and beef mix seasoned with salt, black pepper, whole marjoram, sugar and paprika. The pig that provided the casing was named Chic. The 50-foot long bun required 35 pounds of dough and was transported in a trailer from Highland Bakery. A backup bun was also provided. The record must still be certified by Guinness officials.
