Suicide bombing targets police in Karachi

Pakistani security officials examine a crater caused a bombing in Karachi, Pakistan on Monday, Sept 19. A Taliban suicide bomber detonated a vehicle packed with explosives Monday outside the home of a senior police officer tasked with cracking down on militants in Pakistan's largest city. The blast killed at least eight people and left a crater 10 feet deep, police said.

Relatives mourn their loved ones, who were killed in a suicide bomb blast, after their bodies were brought to a hospital morgue in Karachi on September 19. At least eight people were killed, including six policemen, after a Taliban suicide bomber drove an explosives-laden car into the home of a senior police official in Pakistan's commercial hub Karachi on Monday. Police said 300 kgs (136 lbs) of explosives were used.
