AP reports:
CUPERTINO, California — Apple Inc. said the company's co-founder Steve Jobs died Wednesday. He was 56.
In a brief statement the company said Jobs died Wednesday. He had been battling pancreatic cancer.
"We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today," the company said in a brief statement. "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

Rip Steve Jobs you along with Bill Gates were the last two inventors that has invented things of significance that has served mankind among such inventions as the light bulb, electricity,automobile. You were a hard act to follow thus we had only "parasitic inventors" of Facebook,Twitter,Apps,Androids. The way things are today you will be greatly missed.
RIP Steve Jobs, you along with Bill Gates, were the last two true inventors-innovators, that has invented things of significance to mankind; among such inventions as the light bulb, electricity,automobile,railroad,Airplane,Interstate Highways,Bridges and Ships. You were a hard act to follow thus making you the last true inventor from 20th Century into the 21st Century. You will be greatly missed.
In an age of corporate corruption and thin veneers of innovation, you managed to keep the focus on redefining informational access, enhancing the visual experience, and NOT wearing a tie. Nice work, and may you inspire young minds to keep their eyes on the prize.
