Evangelical Christian pilgrims take part in mass baptism in Israel's Jordan River

Evangelical Christian pilgrims from Brazil take part in a mass baptism ceremony in the waters of the Jordan River at Yardenit in northern Israel on Oct. 15. According to the gospels, Jesus Christ was baptized in the water of the Jordan River by John the Baptist. More than 6000 Evangelical pilgrims arrived in Israel during the Jewish holiday of Sukkoth, or the Feast of Tabernacles, to show their support in the Jewish state.

To Whom It May Concern:

There are thousands estimated well over 100,000 Plus no one know the number as the cities around the world is somewhere in the area 1,000 ONE THOUSAND separate cities but where is the world media? I think Al Jeezera World Press and the Dubai Gree Press along with the Guardian out of London are the most free press for whatever reason the NYT is always a step or two behind they think all they need to do is keep printing study articles and forget news. As the protesters of all the central banks that mean anything but no coverage - the strangest matter that the Dubai Satellite TV is the most free in the world (I have read and have a link to the London Police riot that was blacked out just as the free mediums do in America) You Have To Go To The Internet (the sad fact) - What happened to America?

There are some illness that even antibiotics cannot cure. For such an illness then you need to cry out on the Lord. The Lord has been know to search for those that repent.

The palestinians pooping and peeing on the river up stream are just going "men, what a bunch of tards".
Even the Israelis never let their cattle and sheep drink this water!
Good for the Brazillians, they are used to dirty water anyway. When I was in Rio about 5 years ago, couldnt even trust bottled water...one of those and you head straight to the ER with Dysentry, salmonella and cholera...all at the same time...But India was worse...that to me is the dirtiest place on earth...gives me the creeps just thinking about it...some street vendor was cooking some goodies using water from a pond where a monkey and a cow were just chilling up streem....shock was not the word....and guess what, he had close to 50 people waiting in line to be served...no f*ckin joke...have to see to believe...

Here the Royal Family objected and the goons came down on this "so radical" free press -

Now are you or do you feel threatened by this narrator? You have to be kidding me (London Press)..... here is your link one of thousands the world sees but the land of the free that is you and I - I do not know why we are not allowed to see this as other "oppressed societies are" - can someone explain why the American people are treated as children? Why are we (our news) being censored? Why is our "public opinion being manipulated" - WHY?

Why were you (we) banned I guess from seeing real news or not news - but the Baptism is?

If any of you actually studied the 25,000 + pieces of historical documentation you would see the so called 'fairy tale' has merit. You would understand people didn't live in whales, Jesus (proper name Yahshua) was a man and God worked through him, that being tolerant of deception and deceptive people is NOT what God wants to do and that your deceitful selfish 'socialist secular humanism' will get you nowhere in the circle of life.

Until you take the time to study it and understand it. You don't have a place to comment on it. I see MSNBC has pretty much just put visual provocation for your venting purpose of how you hate religion of any kind. Well guess what, God hated religions too. It's why Babylon was cleared. A thorough investigation of the evidence pertaining to man’s existence and to the knowledge of God leads to an inescapable conclusion: the Scripture God inspired remains the world’s only rational candidate for divine writ. I don’t expect you to concur with me, or Him, in this regard, seeing as you don't study, but I have no doubt that if you did, somewhere along your journey, those of you who are intellectually honest will render a similar verdict. Frankly, the case YHWH (Yahweh) makes on behalf of His Scripture is so compelling, I’m amazed people continue to stumble in the dark.

"Yahuweh’s" "Assembly Meetings" serve to "redeem and ransom" those who listen to "Yahuweh’s Voice." The "Ma’seyah performs Yahuweh’s Business." "God Existing as Man" is how "Yahuweh Saves." Yahshua is the voice of God, our Redeemer, the Ma’seyah, ‘Yhay’el.

I love stuff like this. It controls the nut-job population. The Jordan River is absolutely FILTHY and with any luck some of those numb nuts will contract a disease and try to pray it away. ANYTHING that controls the religious population is a good thing. The more radical idiots that do themselves in, the fewer we have to worry about. I wish more of them would take up stupid stunts like this.. Maybe snake handling will make a big comeback too?

I have bad news for you. The current economic problems that the US is experiencing will lead to an increase in religious population. In their affliction, the people will remember their God.

          #6.1 - Sun Oct 16, 2011 9:57 AM EDT

The fact that you openly hope that someone contracts a disease from this activity indicates that you have little to offer a sensible, sane conversation. Your intolerance of an activity that harms you in no way whatsoever is startling and disturbing. Hoping for such things makes you every bit as much of "radical idiot" as the men and women you condemn.

Whenever israel is involved, there is an angle. These people must be john hagees mindwashed auidience. Very sad for the Palestinians and the Jordanians who should be hosting this instead of israel....

Jesus was a radical, he dined with tax collectors and whores- murders - he said that it is almost impossible for a rich man to enter heaven that the poor would inherit the earth - all things these people I am sure are against. Keep immigrants out of the US! No colored people! Sending everyone and their mothers to hell.

We Christians have existed for Centuries before Europe and the USA even heard of him. I've seen the Jordan River firsthand on a trip to Jordan, it's not the pristine, pure river you imagine from your Bible stories. It's filthy and muddy and has absolutely no curative powers but if people want to dunk themselves in it, be my guest.

I watched a documentary about evangelicals who traveled to Israel for the same reason. They also professed to have done this to show support for Israel. Ironically an Orthodox Jewish man who was interviewed on his view of Jesus said " He was a fake, a fraud , a trickster and a womanizer".

Ultimately Israel has to live without US support and deal with the Arabs. The Taiwanese are already dealing with Beijing.

As with many Hebrew words that are translated, and transliterated, into English they have more then one spelling so both, Sukkot, and Sukkoth are considered correct spellings of the word. Other examples would be Kabbalah vs. Qabalah, and Hanukka vs. Chanukah. The spelling of the word may be slightly different but the pronunciation and meaning are the same.
