Ash discolors the sea after an eruption of an underwater volcano off the coast of El Hierro in the Canary Islands in southwestern Spain on Sunday, Nov. 6. The Spanish Geographical Institute reported on Nov. 7 that it recorded 15 seismic tremors in the last 24 hours.

Effects of undersea volcano worsening off Canary Islands

Volcanic ash is doing a number on the beautiful waters in the Canary Islands. On Saturday, Spanish authorities restricted the waters and the airspace above the underwater volcano.

Officials also shut down La Restinga, and evacuated the port's 600 residents.
