prevention of gas leaks, providing efficient /sufficient ventilation and controlling are the most fundamental design/ engineering after structural integrety activities. chinese are sending rockets, building nuclear bombs and bullet trains but can not create safe mining (especially coal mining) engineering activities. it purely means that china does not care for workers' lives, only interested to become capitalists and supporting terrorists.
u.s is a strong capitalist country but primary concern for u.s. to take care of her work forces's safety
Rama- They don't value the lives of the miners. There have been over 16,000 mining dealths in China over the last 5 years. In the US- I'd be surprised if it's over 20. Look at the photos of those miners too- I bet they are dying from black lung, etc. too.
prevention of gas leaks, providing efficient /sufficient ventilation and controlling will save some lives. But will these make the mine owners any money ? If not, why bother ? With a little fraction of that money, they can buy enough officials to turn a blind eye, and that should solve all their problems.
To the Chinese government: You can buy a heart transplant these days and you have the money. Spend a buck and do the world a favor...........Please!!!
Are you offering your heart ?
My heart goes out to the families of the miners who lost their lives in this horrible accident. It doesn't say how many were in the mine. May God watch over the rescuers as they work to find any survivors.
