For the record, the Chinese and Vietnamese are NOT using rhino horn as a sexual aid. They believe it cures, among other things, cancer, fevers etc. So all those comments about Viagra etc are utterly irrelevant.
Africa, my beloved continent and where I was born and where I live, is NOT a cesspit or basket case. Yes, it has problems, BIG ones, but don't write us off.
Rhino poaching is a HUGE problem. Most of the rhinos are being poached in South Africa, which has a particular set of attitudes to wildlife and laws that aid and abet the trade. You go deeper into who, what, why and how and its goes to the heart of our attitudes towards wildlife and the natural world. We need to take good long look 'sustainable use' and 'sustainable development'... I have some links to very interesting articles that take this on. sarah@africageographic.com if anyone is interested.
This unbiased story is only illustrate small evidence. WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and Africa government are morally and financially corrupted. WWF purposedly blamed everything on Viet Nam or small countries while knowing too damn well where all these exotic animals goes to: serving the Riches and Elites in China.
WWF and its cronies are disgrace to America publics and the world. WWF is effective tool for China and hypocrites like the rest of politicans in Washington D.C. We will never fix the crisis, so stop whinning, complain, and fingerpoint to a wrong direction. Now we are all know the truth. There are hundred of similar shipments to China every month from Africa. WWF is a lousy liar, cowardice, and disgrace.
PETA needs to latch onto this instead of a video game, or telling a town to change their name!
