Reuters reports:

A senior Pakistani army official has said a NATO cross-border air attack that killed 24 soldiers was a deliberate, blatant act of aggression, hardening Pakistan's stance on an incident that could hurt efforts to stabilize Afghanistan.

Major General Ishfaq Nadeem, director general of military operations, said NATO forces were alerted they were attacking Pakistani posts but helicopters kept firing.

"Detailed information of the posts was already with ISAF (International Security Assistance Force), including map references, and it was impossible that they did not know these to be our posts," Pakistani newspaper The News quoted Nadeem as saying at a briefing held at army headquarters on Tuesday.

The army released a video to the media showing what it said were the Pakistani border posts -- rough constructions of large stones, corrugated metal and canvas in isolated positions.

Filmed from a helicopter, it also showed foxholes and what appeared to be a mortar emplacement surrounded by rocks.

Nadeem was adamant NATO had been told it was attacking Pakistani positions. "They continued regardless, with impunity," The News quoted him as saying. Read the full story.

Pakistan?? Isn't this the country that gave the most feared terrorist(Bin Laden) safe haven? Is this the country that allows the Taiban have safe haven in their country? While America is giving you millions of dollars to help your citizens. You showed your face on who you support, when you continued condemning us on taking Bin Laden out with a drone attack.

We don't need you need you really. We were doing you a favor, paying you extra for using your roads for the cargo to Afghastan. As you will see, we can easily fly in our cargo, without you.

I'm not against the innocent people in Pakistan. I am against the leadership in Pakistan.

Obama needs to send in another drone and take out Pakistan's leadership.

"it was impossible that they did not know these to be our posts"

Then please tell us why fire was coming down on NATO troops FROM those locations. Either the enemy was standing next to you while you ignored them and they fired, or you fired, which is it?

I am sorry for their loss, but I do not believe a word they have to say. NATO fired the rockets, and the chants from Pakistan are ' death to America'. We were told that we would not see our enemy, and they are correct. I think the 2 billion dollars we pump into their economy would do much better at home. They are not an ally!

People make mistakes all the time------we have been known to kill our own people (by mistake)------my suggestion is that we teach them the meaning of 'friendly fire!!"---that should make them feel better, after all, it works for us!!

Instead of handing out US$ to Pakistan, use even less money to deport all Pakistanis from the Western Countries, stop issuing US Visa for them to visit any Western Country, even Freeze all their assets in the Western world . That would give the right medicine under the circumstances. Make and pass laws so the Western nations also legal have clout.

Pakistan needs to form an alliance with Iran and China to stabilize the reigon. There can be peace in the area if the US and NATO quit stirring things up. These people have long memories and they know who killed their relatives. We, the US should stop trying to rule the world.

Mr. Jarvis: I don't know where you live, but if we do follow through with your 'master plan' do you mind paying $5/gal for gas or even more? Go on google.com/maps and research a little place called the Straits of Hormuz and tell me what will happen when they shut down the Straits? No more oil for Western Countries only for Paki and China? We are not just talking about Iranian oil, we are talking about ALL oil that comes from that location: Kuwaiti, Saudi, Bahraini, and Qatari for the heavy players and Iraq and UAE for the lessor players. Do you HONESTLY think we will allow an alliance of two state-actors that possess nukes to form an allegiance with a rogue state such as Iran? There are already economic and military support treaties between the three of them in trading technology and selling weapons. Mother Russia is providing technical support for Iran's nuclear program and China and North Korea is doing the same for Pakistan. We are in that region to ensure and secure that the sea lanes remain open so our gas prices stay relatively low and our own anemic economic status does not collapse entirely. There will not be peace as you envision it; Iran will take the Helmand province and Pakistan will do what it has done since the 1980s: provide a haven for Taliban and Haqanni to launch cross-border operations in Afghanistan to destabilize the fragile government in place. Pakistan's ISI will leverage cross-border operations to influence that government to do it's bidding. I guess you can call that peace- in their eyes...Ask the folks in Mumbai how that worked out for them...peace...HA!

                  Get real...

                        Unintended consequences...

Some Pakistani idiot (probably) thought it would be funny to paint one of our jets with an infared or Laser guided missile. What he got back was "Hell in a canister".

If you have sense, you do tug on Superman's cap, he may be having a "bad day". No doubt, they tried to call off the attack, after all it was just a joke. But, with tensions as high as they are now - Pakistan is holding up resupply convoys on their way to Afghanistan as a way of teasing the bear and bleeding a little more baksheesh out of the pockets of the CIA.

Problem is, once the on button is hit, its hard to call off the attack - kind'a like a big fart, you'll get a hernia trying to hold it in.

You notice that the US has denied anything ... How can we. the Planes were targeted, they deemed it a valid threat ... better to toast the ground than take a chance on losing a 1/2 billion dollar jet or million dollar drone.

Some things you wished you had thought over it a little longer or twitch your nose - just take back.... As I tell a lot "pranksters", not everything is as funny, to the other guy, as you think it is.

Personally - I didn't cover my behind in unmapped parts of the world - to be taken out by some idiot with a warped sense of humor.

Dial set on eleven... let the chips fall where they may. After all... What are they gonna do. cut my hair and send me to another war zone?

The only Americans barring the cost of the Afghanistan war are the middle and lower class. The rich have been making billions of dollars from these wars and the cost has been added to the national debt. It has been a win-win for the rich and until the middle class and lower class decide they have had enough the rich will prolong these wars forever. Thank god Obama has put and end date on the Afghanistan war or we would be commited forever.

I say deploy 200 drones and assure the Taliban that they will never have peace in the next 100 years for what they did to America by supporting al-qaeta in attacking the US. As for Pakistan. We provide 1.2 billion dollars a year in sup[port so let's just tell them that we need to remove that support because we have to fly in the supplies we need to support our troops in Afghanistan. It is time to tell Pakistan that enough is enough.

I'm really confused by these pictures.. I don't see anything blown up, or cratered, or really much of anything other than some bits of burning brush.. What kind of air strike did NATO deliver? That burning hill looks like maybe hit by tracer rounds, or something? I don't really see anything in that camp..
