Taking to the slopes for skiing on fresh... pebbles?

I don't think of myself as someone who is scared of heights, but these pictures definitely make my feet tingle with the thought of skiing down a steep slope full of rocks! It is quite impressive how this photographer managed to balance his camera(s?) and ski poles, and still made it to the bottom to transmit his pictures.

I am glad it is them and not me. What's wrong with snow? If the snow doesn't come go sit by the fire, spend your tourist dollars in the lodge.

Just pray for no rock slides! Seems a little crazy to me.

Seriously? "Rock Skiing" used to be taking our old skis out when there was just a few inches of snow, in anticipation of hitting some rocks. Why is this generation so bored with that? I feel very old....

In keeping with my call name, anyone ever hear of PhotoShop?

The local ski jump hill practices all summer, using wet plastic grass on the hill. People ski sand dunes in Africa. So I guess we shouldn't be surprised... but it's still pretty weird. Pretty hard on the gear, too. Not to mention breathing dust. But whatever floats your skis, I guess!

With the way ths winter is starting here on the east coast, that does not look like a bad idea if you can afford the damage to a pefectly good pair of skis. Just don't fall. As for me I prefer SNOW skiing
